We conducted a survey in the months of August, September and until Mid Oct 2019. The idea was to explore the top 10 data science programs/institutes in India: Ranking 2019-2020.
We circulated a Google form with all the visitors on our jobs portal, Analytics Jobs. Ranking of an institute depends on various factors like:
- Course Duration: We inducted the programs that were of a minimum 6 months duration because we at Analytics Jobs have a common understanding that no one can become a data scientist in less than 6 months duration.
- Mode of Training: We have included the courses who are delivering data science training in online mode or classroom mode or blended mode. Obviously, blended mode is eligible for higher rankings.
- Course Content: We have put more emphasis on course content which includes the tools taught, total number of live class hours, total number of pre-recorded class hours, query resolution, number of industry projects, number of the capstone projects and various other crucial factors.
- Quality of Trainers and Mentors: Trainers play a vital role in delivering knowledge to the data science aspirants. We have categorized the institutes who have got the maximum number of trainers who are PhDs. For mentors, we have tried to check the number of experiences they have got in the industry or experience in deploying projects across various sectors and market segments in machine learning, data science, deep learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Internship and Placements: Lessons learned in classrooms typically differ from what is expected from a professional in the industry. That’s why; we have ranked those institutes and data science programs that have put internship an integral part of their curriculum. Final placements in terms of an institute penetration into the industry have been taken into the picture for this ranking.
